Its innocent curiosity was all but overshadowed by its reckless brutality. The Child wants nothing more than to explore the world and its many mysteries, at all cost.

This horrid monstrosity is based on an old idea of mine, a horror videogame in which the protagonist must save its creator from his own creations.
The idea behind the child is that the creature itself is completely deaf, but harbors eyesight so powerful as to outlive its very host.
The main character of this non-existent game is forced to end the monster's life by the means of decapitation, after which a brief period of respite is abruptly terminated by its stomach violently bulging outwards, and the crevice thought to be a disfigured belly button opens up to reveal a giant eye seeking vengeance, controlling the headless body like a morbid marionette.

The later sketches and concepts are greatly inspired by the Little Nightmares franchise. The final concept sought inspiration primarily in dolls and young children, and secondarily from the contorted face of the English bulldog.

For this character design I even went as far as to arrange a complementary soundtrack for that full, all encompassing videogame experience. Feel free to check it out!
